People that usually contract scabies are of poor health, and their susceptibility to the mites has to do with their particular strain, the stage of infestation, and where they infest. Although scabies can also be called mites, regardless of the name that you use, they are very small and hard to find. The general symptoms are very itchy skin, if not extreme itchiness, that is due to the body’s allergic reaction. The mites are no different than any other living organism in that they will continue to grow and multiply as long as the environment is conducive to it. Scabies, in general, likes to pick specific areas of the body because it is much easier for the mites to sustain themselves. Scabies can appear on virtually anyone, male or female, however the places where they infest may differentiate by gender.

However, on both genders the buttocks is one location where it can happen. Although there is this one distinction, there are many more variations per gender. Guys can look forward to infestations primarily occurring in the genital area. Scabies can most likely appear on women where the bra line touches the breast and nipple area.

Nodular scabies syndrome is one bad complication of scabies and can occur in someone who has suffered an extreme bout of scabies or in people with delicate skin. This infestation will produce nodules on the skin that are very small and can be somewhere in between brown and red in color. You will find nodular scabies usually in areas that are covered by clothing. It wouldn’t be unusual for these nodules to develop under the arms and in the groin area.
